First: restart the device
Use Settings → My Fire TV → Restart where available, or follow the restart advice for your model. This closes stuck processes and can clear temporary device problems. Make sure your internet connection is working after the device comes back on.
Then: clear the affected app’s cache
Amazon’s guidance places the setting under Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications. Select the troublesome app and choose Clear Cache. Try opening it again. Do not confuse Clear Cache with Clear Data: clearing data can reset the app and remove local account settings, so keep your login details handy before using that option.
Check updates and storage
An outdated Fire TV system or app can cause compatibility issues. Look for a system update through the Fire TV settings and an app update from the official store. Low storage also makes devices less responsive; remove unused apps through the supported settings rather than deleting unknown system files.
When to reinstall and contact support
If the app still fails, consider reinstalling the official version after confirming you have the correct account details. If other video apps work but one service does not, note its name, any displayed error code and the time of the failure. Send this information to the service’s authorised support team.
