The EPG and the live channel are different data
A player can sometimes display a functioning video even if its programme listing is blank. Guide information has to be supplied, matched to channel identifiers and updated. That information can arrive at different times from the stream or be unavailable for certain channels.
Why listings can be wrong
Guide schedules can drift when a data source is delayed, a channel changes its schedule or a timezone setting is wrong. International channels may show a different local broadcast time. A blank listing does not, by itself, prove that the video cannot play.
Practical checks before contacting support
Verify your device’s date, time and timezone, restart the app and refresh guide data using the app’s supported option where available. Avoid deleting an entire service profile without saving the correct account information. Keep a note of the affected channel and the time discrepancy.
What to ask your provider
Ask whether a programme guide is included, which channels are covered, how often listings update and which player is supported. If accurate sports or news schedules are important, ask for confirmation rather than assuming every one of a provider’s advertised channels includes EPG metadata.
