What a playlist can contain
An M3U-style file may hold names, group information and addresses for media sources. Some formats also carry identifiers that a player can associate with electronic programme guide entries. Different players support different extensions and metadata conventions.
A player is not the same as a subscription
A generic media player provides controls for opening supported video streams. Content access and rights come from the actual source or provider. Installing a player does not create a legitimate subscription or guarantee that any channel will work.
Keep account information private
Treat any playlist address containing a personal access token or credential as sensitive information. Do not post it on social media, send it to unknown support accounts or paste it into untrusted websites. Use trusted apps and confirm the provider’s permission to carry its content.
Troubleshooting basic format problems
If a lawful playlist fails to load, check its format is supported by the app, that your internet connection works and that the content source remains authorised and available. A missing guide may require separate, correctly matched schedule data. For the non-technical explanation see our EPG guide.
